The Podcasts we listen to

Recently, or at least it was recently at the time I started to compile this, there was some discussion on Twitter regarding what podcasts do some of the Lifestyle pod-casters listen to.  Well, if you’re at all familiar with Twitter then you know the character limitation doesn’t lend itself to a through reply.  However, I did reply simply stating that I (Mr. Square) listen to a lot and Ms. Square tends to listen to the shows or episodes that I forward to her from time to time.  From there, we received another message asking us to post up the full list of shows that we listen to on our web page.  Here is the list that I subscribe to via my Android phone using the Pocket Casts app from Shifty Jelly.  The list is in alphabetical order and not the order that I may listen to them if they all had released an episode on the same day:

1)  Ari Shaffir’s Skeptic Tank – Comedy

2)  Average Swingers – Ethical Non-Monogamy

3)  Bliss Bringers – Ethical Non-Monogamy

4)  Common Sense with Dan Carlin – Political Commentary

5)  DeathSquad Network (Pointless Podcast with Kevin Pereira) – Comedy & Tangents

6)  DeathSquad Network (Ice House Chronicles) – Comedy

7)  DeathSquad Network (Kill Tony with Tony Hinchcliffe) – Comedy

8)  Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History – History

9)  David Seaman Hour – Political Commentary

10)  Exercises for Injuries – Health

11)  Life on the Swingset – Ethical Non-Monogamy

12)  Lifestyle Out Loud – Ethical Non-Monogamy

13)  Los Swingers – Ethical Non-Monogamy

14)  Men’s Health Radio – Health

15)  Onnit Podcast – Health

16)  Pedestrian Polyamory – Ethical Non-Monogamy

17)  Podcast Answer Man – All about Podcasting

18)  Social Media Marketing – All about social media

19)  Swap Fu Podcast – Ethical Non-Monogamy

20)  Swingercast – Ethical Non-Monogamy

21)  Tangentially Speaking Dr. Chris Ryan – Hard to categorize but very good.  Author of Sex at Dawn

22)   The Boris and Doris Podcast – Ethical Non-Monogamy

23)  The Drunken Taoist – Psychology Podcast but funny and sometimes includes non-monogamy talk

24)  The Duncan Trussell Family Hour – Comedy

25)  The Feed: Libsyn Podcast – About Podcasting and Libsyn media hosting

26)  The Hidden Swing – Ethical Non-Monogamy

27)  The Joe Rogan Experience – Comedy, Political & Tangents

28)  Smart Passive Income with Pat Flynn – Internet marketing

29)  The Steven Brody Stevens Festival of Friendship – Comedy

30)  Upgraded Self Radio – Health

31)  Your Mom’s House – Comedy but lately it’s been almost to gross to listen to.

Well, there you have it, that’s the entire list on my phone right now.  Of course, it’s all subject to change based on what I find new or no longer find interesting.  Some of these are updated weekly, other’s like us have to take breaks from time to time but since they are subscribed via Pocket Casts, my phone gets an alert when a new episode is available.  I guess another thing to mention is some type of disclaimer, while I may listen to them I may not always agree with the message they are putting out.  I listen to either get further educated, get another point of view I hadn’t considered myself or just to zone out if it’s some type of comedic ramblings.

Until next time and thank you for listening!

Having a Moment

Hello from Ms. Square!

We are on day two now of catching up on LOL related business. Yesterday was eight hours of replying to emails while Mr. Square diligently edited our most recent podcast (sure do love my hottie geeks!). Woke this morning to more emails and a plan around revamping the website….we are now four hours into that. As I sit here and tidy everything up and reread and respond to the rest of the emails, I am having a moment. Not a little moment but a huge shifting moment (kind of like squirting as apposed to cumming???)….

I/we are so flippin fortunate to be doing this podcast and nurturing such amazing friendships that we would not otherwise have the chance to nurture. Without getting too sappy, I/we would like to say thank you….thank you a million times and then some. We have created something special here…all of us. We couldn’t do it without you!

Now, on to business….

Some things to look forward to:

Give-aways and discount codes, merch, toy reviews, more guests as well as more listener participation.

As always we love your feedback and iTunes reviews. Please keep them coming as it keeps us going!

With gratitude and big wet kisses,

Ms. Square

Monogamy May

Noooooo!!! Damn it, we refuse to give up the month. Ms. Square and I are still alive, doing well and have tons to discuss and record on upcoming episodes.

Unfortunately, we have been crapped on by the Ex’s…again. In a crafty attempt to sabotage our swinger month of May our Ex’s have left town and have radically affected our plans for May. However, we will not go quietly into monogamy. So, we have gotten our calendars together and have salvaged a hand full of days in May and have jammed packed them with upcoming plans to have fun and record….still trying to have Ms. Square allow me to record our having fun…which would be great fun I think.

Please stay tuned, don’t give up….

Love, Hugs & Kisses,
Mr. & Ms. Square

Kick-Ass Challenge

Well, better late (very late) than never! Here is the lovely artwork from Ms. Square. This was all her idea! While the kick-ass challenge remains to be a challenge for us both to start at the same time, we have done some of the activities. Ms. Square and I are not big into gyms but we are into Yoga and working out at home with kettlebells, jump ropes and the basics of home fitness.

Getting in better shape is one of the many benefits of being in the Lifestyle. While we are relatively in shape, we would like to get fitter. Especially since we plan on heading out to Desire at some point and while there wearing clothing a little as possible.

Hope you enjoy and one day I may figure out how to post this as an interactive spreadsheet so we can all track our activities together!

Enjoy! Mr. Square

Choosing a web presence for your blog or podcast – part two

Hello Readers (and Listeners),

Welcome to part two of my internet rant and ravings on how to start your own Podcast and/or Blog. In the first post about this I tried to talk about some of the free options you have regarding your internet branding or name. In this post I’d like to tell you the approach I went with, it didn’t coast a lost but it’s more than free.

Before I really begin, I need to confess that the part two post was up for a few days and I received a direct email from a Podcast listener who also checks out the blogs. His comments made me re-think part two and so I pulled down what I had previously posted. Ms. Square and I feel so blessed that we have people who listen to and read the content we are attempting to put out there and we have received a few suggestions about our podcast, website and blogs and we appreciate how people are looking out for us!

I’ll continue with part two with a warning there will be a part three. What I went on to originally say in the post that lived just a few days was…If you do have some budget or want to save up a budget then we recommend that you identify your own internet presence, like www.whateveryouchoose.com. You will have to find a web hosting company and they all usually have a way for you to search what domain (.com, .net, .tv) may be available with the name you desire. Another item you want to look for is the ability to single-click or simple-script tools to create your web site; most hosting companies will have something like this but it’s still important to validate, unless you’re a super duper website master and if that’s the case, please email me. HA! In our case to set this up, we used the simple-script installation of WordPress, we didn’t need to know how to program anything or do the fancy web scripting, just answer a few questions and you’re up and running. You can then refine your site over time, which slowly we are.

If you decide to go the route we choose and own your internet web presence then you will need to find a web hosting company and research if your name is available. The web hosting company that we shoose was Bluehost. Like most hosting companies you can look up your domain name right from their site which was what we did.

Now, here is why I pulled down my original post; it was brought to my attention that Bluehost does not allow Adult Content and may suspend your account based on having a site that contains Adult Content. Now, thankfully we don’t have anything on our website that I would consider Adult…yet, but I can tell you that I do want to option to have that. Ms. Square and I have talked about doing different reviews on the blog site. That may be toys, birth control, vacation destinations and anything else that this journey may take us through, in as much detail as Ms. Square will allow. I also have the personality type where I would rather be proactive than forced to be reactive; so I am now on the hunt for a new hosting company for LifestyleOutLoud.com. In all honesty, I do have several other web based projects that I’ve started before Ms. Square and I started this journey and they are all hosted with Bluehost with no problems at all for several years. Once I received the email from our Podcast listener and Blog reader and now good friends; it make me rethink the need to read and examine hosting companies Terms of Service (ToS); which is where part three will come in.

I will report back what I’ve found and the next steps that will either be taken or need to be taken. In the meantime, if you think Bluehost will work for you then check it out. In the interest of full transparancy (I’m a big fan of that) we are a BlueHost affilitate and is another way to support the show if you’re planning to setup a site that doesn’t violate their Terms of Service.

Kindly,
Mr. Square
